J.B. Musselman was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and is a third-generation oilman who has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Geology, he began his career working for Victoria Operating, Inc. he held the position of Field Operations Manager for the Gulf Coast and South Texas regions. In this position, he gained onsite experience by directly overseeing production facilities and pipeline construction, maintenance, and operations.

Musselman also became Vice President of Grande Oil Company where he prepared and sold oil and gas prospects. In 2006, he founded Musselman Oilfield Services, LLC, an oil and gas consulting firm. Musselman Oilfield Services provides operating companies with well-site supervision for all upstream operations, as well as engineering support based on their specific needs. Mr. Musselman and his team provide support primarily within the Gulf Coast and South Texas regions. Some of their clients include Trinity Operating, LLC, Venado Oil & Gas, LLC, Texas American Resources Company, and SandPoint Resources, LLC.

Musselman Oilfield Services has extensive experience in unconventional and conventional fields including formations such as Eagle Ford, Austin Chalk, Buda, Wilcox, Yegua, Jackson, and Frio. In late 2021, JB Musselman and his business partner Ryan Broglie founded MB Energy, LLC., a full-service oil and gas operating company.

Ryan Broglie is the Co-founder a Managing partner of MB Energy, LLC, founded in 2021 with long-time colleague-turned-collaborator J.B. Musselman. A diverse skill set in the engineering and operations side of the Oil & Gas business, Mr. Broglie currently serves as Manager of Engineered Well Consulting, a full-service Oil & Gas Engineering firm with solid technical practices specializing in drilling, completions/frac, and workover of conventional and unconventional South and West Texas region plays.

He began his career in 1996 after graduating from Texas A&M University – Kingsville with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. With 12 years in the service sector and an additional 14 years in engineering/operations, he has a keen appreciation for challenges endured at both sides of the desk. In 2009 gained his Professional Engineering license in Petroleum Engineering and then honed his operational experience as Vice-president and Co-founder of Bruington Operating, LLC from 2007 to 2017. Concurrently, he served as Vice-president of Engineering for Bruington Engineering, LLC. In his prior career, served as an applications engineer for Smith International, Inc. in various domestic and international positions including in The Sultanate of Oman and Canada.

Broglie has engineered and led execution teams for over 125 Delaware Basin horizontals leading to a 100% success rate in achieving initial completion. His most notable recent experience was garnered at Luxe Energy, LLC an NGP-backed, Austin-based Delaware player where he oversaw engineering and operations for (39) Delaware basin wells, assisted in the creation of AFE cost accounting, managed a $136MM budget, and directed all field operations. He has also engineered and executed over 25 Eagle Ford projects in Frio, Atascosa, Dewitt, Karnes, and Lavaca counties. Some clients included Teal Operating, Black Brush Oil and Gas, and Talisman Energy.
Other work included independent and major operators such as Shell - Petroleum (Energy) Development Oman, Petro Canada, EOG Resources, Chevron, Resolute/Cimarex, Silverback Operating I, LLC, Colgate Operating, Upcurve Energy, SpaceX, Petro Vietnam (BienDong POC), and highly unique international design projects for Worley (Parsons). He performs detailed cost studies for Spears Research, LLC and has also served as an expert witness on multiple cases.
